After years of experience, we passionately believe that training as part of a group is the best way to train.
We believe that it can get you better results and you’re going to have more fun in the process.
The potential downsides that someone might say are:
- “It’s not specific/tailored to me” and;
- “I’m just not sure about exercising with other people”
The reality is however, that unless someone were to have multiple, very specific injuries and ailments, or you have extreme goals, then your training in the gym is not going to differ too much from one person to the next.

No matter what people’s goals are, whether it’s to get fitter, get stronger, lose a bit of weight, tone up, improve their health and just feel better… the training is fairly similar. It’s all about getting stronger on the whole; focusing on the bigger movements, such as squats, lunges, deadlifts, pull ups and presses and some smaller accessory movements like carries, core work and arm exercises, alongside some cardio work.
No matter your goal and your training experience, your programme will normally include all of the above in some form or another.

Something else we hear from people is “I’m not sure about training as part of a group.” This is really common and we understand it can feel daunting because everyone has thoughts of “What if I’m not as good as everybody else?” and “I’m going to be the odd one out!”.
The thought of attending your first session probably will always be a little bit daunting but the reality is that everyone in the group has been in a similar position to you previously and are always very welcoming.
The groups are full of people just like you, with similar goals, on similar journeys, with similar commitments and obstacles.
It’s remarkable how much you will have in common with the other people in the group.
It’s unsurprising to learn that some great friendships have formed through training together at FACTR.
There are multiple benefits we speak of when promoting a group training environment and these depend on the person’s preferences, needs and wants:
- Higher energy
The sessions have a much higher level of energy than training on your own. The benefit is that when you’re having a good day, it helps you reach that next level and when you’re not feeling especially energetic, you can rely on the group to lift you up.
- It’s more fun
Training with others and multiple coaches in a high energy environment means that you’re going to enjoy the sessions much, much more.
- It’s more social
You get to meet and spend time with people. This can be great if you’re looking to make new connections or if you come with a friend or partner it can be quality time together. One of the most important factors for progress and achieving goals is having a positive social circle that is aligned with your goals. We have a ready made social circle for you to throw yourselves into.
- More accountability.
Due to the social connections you make, there is a higher level of accountability. Not only do you want to come but there’s also a bit more of a need to come as well, as you don’t want to let the group down.
- You can be competitive
Not everyone wants it… but if you want to push yourself, a group environment is the place to do so. There is camaraderie alongside as well as some people who enjoy a bit of friendly competition.
- More cost effective
Training in a group environment will always be a more cost effective option, as training with others brings the cost down for everyone. A lower cost means you are more likely to make it a long term sustainable part of your life and therefore more likely to stay consistent and on track to achieve your goals.
